We are excited to welcome American photographer, Andrew Moore to our programme! Moore is widely acclaimed for his photographic series, usually taken over many years, which record the effect of time on the natural and built landscape.

Exploring places like Cuba, Russia, the American South and the High Plains, Moore gravitates towards locations that sit at the intersections of history, where various time periods converge and intertwine. His images reveal the captivating beauty of both grandeur and its decay, finding the most picturesque examples in crumbling factories, the chaos of Times Square and the faded elegance of Havana. Although Moore’s practice is rooted in documentary, the works exude mystery and drama, as if stills from a film set. His frames are often devoid of human presence, yet somehow their presence is palpable.

The selection provides an overview of Moore’s career to date, including images from his most celebrated  series and publications. We are pleased to present works from ‘Whiskey Point and Other Tales’, ‘Blue Alabama’, ‘Dirt Meridian’, ‘Detroit Disassembled’, and ‘Inside Havana’.
